Rayagada: As many as 15 migrant labourers including seven women were rescued from a brick kiln in Telangana. They all are residents of Bolangir district.
They worked in the brick kiln at Karlachila of Paidapali district of Telangana. The owner of the brick kiln used to torture them. “He does not give us food on right time. Many times he scolded us and beat us. Salary was also very irregular”, said a rescued labourer.
On a tip off, officials of International Human Rights Commission raided the brick kiln and rescued the labourers. They all arrived at Rayagada station under the care of Labour department. They will be sent back to Bolangir today, labour official said.
