22 rooms of Anant Basudev temple kitchen gutted in fire mishap

Bhubaneswar: As many as 22 rooms of the kitchen of Anant Basudev temple here were gutted in a massive fire that broke out in the kitchen late last night.

The thatched houses were reduced to ashes in the blaze, the cause of which has not yet been established.

Three teams of fire tender unit were pressed into service and after hours of hardship, the teams brought the flame under control.

The temple which provides prasad to around 5,000 devotees on daily basis, will prepare only ‘kotha bhoga’ due to the mishap, sources said.

The ‘Anna Prasad’ preparation will resume after reconstruction of kitchen rooms.
