Bhubaneswar: As many as six districts of Odisha have been badly affected by the unseasonal rain and wind due to nor’wester.
Bargarh is the worst hit district where massive crop loss was reported due to rain and hailstorm, deputy SRC Prabhat Mohapatra said.
“We received the preliminary reports from six districts- Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Sonepur and Balasore.
Two death cases, one each in Balasore and Mayurbhanj were reported due to tree falling and one such case has been reported from Mayurbhanj due to wall collapse,” Mohapatra added.
Basically crop loss and house damage were reported from these districts. As many as Rs 5.31 lakh have been allotted to Mayurbhanj for house construction.
“We will soon sanction funds for other affected district as soon as we receive the required report from respective district administration, Mohapatra maintained.
