New Delhi: Odisha government today alleged that Centre is yet to release about Rs 6400 cr for undertaking various Central projects in State even as only one month is away from last financial year to end.
While reviewing the pending central projects with Residence Commissioner in Delhi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik informed that the pending amount includes more than Rs 1000 cr for Housing, Rs 375 cr for Health, Rs 400 crore under NREGS and more than Rs 650 crore in agriculture sector.
“We are spending more than Rs 3000 cr in drinking water from the State budget. Government of India has allocated Rs 180 cr out of which they have released only Rs 80 crore”, Patnaik further added.
Similarly, the Centre has provided only Rs 6 crore out of 200 crore in Smart City poverty alleviation programme, the CM said.
Countering Naveen Patnaik on his allegation, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Chief Minister is blaming Centre at a time when he is unable to spend the central funds on various welfare projects. “Odisha government should feel shame as it is unable to spend the central funds in various sector. The CM has gone to Delhi to seek account of funds. One such example is the funds sanctioned for electrification in Nabarangpur has remained unspent”, Pradhan said after attending a meeting Nabarangpur.
