Bhubaneswar: The much awaited maiden scheduled flight service between Bhubaneswar and Raipur began today. Private carrier ‘Air Odisha’ launched the service.
Bhubaneswar airport director Suresh Chandra Hota flagged off the service from here. He said the new flight service will help Odisha and Chhattisgarh develop. It is a matter of pride that a flight service has been named after Odisha, he added.
The 18-seater plane has two pilots with a cabin crew member. It will depart Bhubaneswar airport at 6:10 AM and arrive at Raipur around 7:40 AM. The return flight from Raipur will begin at 12:15 PM and reach Bhubaneswar at 1:40 PM. The flight services will be available everyday excluding Sunday.
Around nine passengers have travelled today to Raipur in the first trip.
The distance between Bhubaneswar and Raipur can now be covered in just 1.5 hours with new flight connectivity.
‘Air Odisha’ will soon launch flight service from Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda and Rourkela soon.
