Bhubaneswar: Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to visit Bhubaneswar in May first week to meet BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in what was apparently a build-up to an anti-BJP federal front for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Though there is no formal political agenda, both leaders are likely to discuss current political situation in the country and scope on formation of an alternative front, sources said.
However, sources said Rao has decided to have one-to-one talk with Patnaik and seek the latter’s support to build an anti-BJP federal front.
The meeting between the two regional is going to take place at a time when Patnaik is keeping his cards close to his chest with regard to his future political moves in national politics though he has been keep saying that his party would maintain equidistance both from BJP and Congress and he has no interest in national politics.
Even though West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) president Mamata Banerjee and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu have been making efforts to unite regional parties in the country ahead of the general elections and talked with Patnaik over phone, the Odisha Chief Minister has so far not revealed his political plans thereby sparking speculations in political circle.
