Bhubaneswar: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Odisha on January 18, informed party State in-charge Arun Singh today.
Shah will attend booth-level conferences at four places in Cuttack on January 18, said Singh.
On the other hand preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Baripada on January 5. Modi will also visit Bolangir on January 16.
Modi has already visited the State on December 24. With the successive visits to the State by top saffron party functionaries Odisha seems to be key destination for the BJP’s top leaders in the run-up to the 2019 elections.
On December 24 visit, Modi addressed a public meeting at the foothills of the historic Barunei Hills, the site of the 1817 Paika rebellion – an armed uprising of peasants against the British, at Khurda.
He also inaugurated the IIT Bhubaneswar campus and laid the foundation of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research’s (IISER) Berhampur campus and also released the commemorative coin, stamp and inaugurated the Chair at Utkal University in memory of the rebellion.
