Arup Patnaik gifted with executive chairman post of Youth Welfare Board

Bhubaneswar: Former Police Commissioner of Mumbai Arup Patnaik, who had joined BJD recently, has been appointed as the executive chairman of State Youth Welfare Board under Sports & Youth Services Department.

He has also been given a key post in the party. He will look after the Biju Yuva Bahini to strengthen youth base of the party.

A 1979 batch of IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, Patnaik had joined the Biju Janata Dal in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on April 19.

Patnaik retired on September 30, 2015 after a distinguished career spanning over 36 years. Known for his integrity and fearlessness, Patnaik is the first and only Odia IPS officer to hold the post of Police Commissioner of Mumbai.
