Bhubaneswar: The traffic constable, who allegedly slapped the daughter of a senior IPS officer yesterday, has lodged a complaint at Capital police station here today.
Acting on her complaint, police examined the CCTV footage of AG square where the incident occurred yesterday.
The daughter of Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways Pranabindu Acharya had also apprised the matter to city DCP following which DCP has ordered a probe.
The incident took place in the evening on Thursday when ADG’s daughter and wife were coming from Raj Mahal Square towards AG Square by a car. The daughter of the IPS officer was driving.
Due to some traffic violation by the ADG’s daughter, the constable on duty had a heated argument with her in the midst of which the constable allegedly slapped her on the face.
Soon after the news spread, the girl’s father ADG Acharya rushed to the spot and inquired into the matter. However, he refused to comment on the matter.
On the other hand, the traffic constable Puspalata Bhoi feigned innocence and denied charge of manhandle. She said that she stopped the car on the way due to traffic rule violation.
