Bhubaneswar: Baijayant Panda, who recently joined BJP at the party headquarters in New Delhi, was received a warm welcome at the airport and State party headquarters here.
Panda landed in Bhubaneswar today, two days after formally joining the BJP in New Delhi in the presence of party president Amit Shah and Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan.
Today the former Lok Sabha member was accorded a rousing welcome at the party office in the presence of Union Minister Pradhan, state party president Basanta Panda, his deputy Sameer Mohanty, MLA KV Singh Deo. A large number of party workers welcomed him. On the occasion, hundreds of supporters of Panda also joined the saffron party.
Union Ministers Pradhan, Oram, Odisha unit chief Basant Panda and legislature party leader KV Singh Deo were present at welcome ceremony.
Hundreds of supporters including party members rallied the former parliamentarian to the party headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion he said that he joined the saffron party after being inspired by the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted that a change will occur this time in Odisha.
While welcoming Panda to party, Union Minister Pradhan targeted the BJD and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and said Panda’s joining will certainly strengthen the party.
Panda joined the BJP on March 4 in New Delhi in presence of party national president Amit Shah.
