Bhubaneswar: Acting on the allegation of the disproportionate assets case leveled against him, Vigilance sleuths conducted raids on residences and offices of an assistant commercial tax officer (ACTO) of Balangir district on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Dhirendra Mishra.
Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids on Mishra’s residence at Mahalaxmi Nagar in Balangir district and seized cash of Rs 4.71 lakh along with some gold ornaments.
The anti-corruption team also raided on Mishra’s offices at Balangir and Kantabanji and seized his documents including ATM cards, pass book and insurance papers.
The value of total assets of the officer stands at Rs 1 crore. The raids are still on, said sources.
