Bhubaneswar: The runner-up team of Indian Super League (ISL), Bengaluru FC (BFC) thrashed East Bengal by 4-1 goals and lifted the Super Cup football tournament title here on Friday.
In 28th minute, Ansumana Kromah of East Bengal got the chance to score the first goal of the final match. Kromah went for a bicycle kick and the ball went right over BFC’s goalie Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, while BFC got fist chance to score a goal in 39th minute of the match by a header by Rahul Bheke.
Sunil Chetri has scored maximum two goals for his team and bagged the Man of the Match title and his team-mate Nicolas Fedor was adjudged Player of the Tournament.
Albert Roca, the BFC coach congratulated the team members over the victory and said that Odisha is lucky for him.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Sports minister Chandra Sarathi Behera, MLA Debashis Samantaray were present in the trophy presentation ceremony.
