Bhubaneswar: A day after withdrawing its support to the High Court Bar Association’s strike, lawyers of BJD legal front today announced that they will attend court proceedings from tomorrow.
It was decided after a meeting of the front presided over by front convenor Milan Kanungo. The front yesterday announced to withdraw its support after Orissa High Court Bar Association declared to intensify its strike and burn an effigy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in front of 164 Bar Associations across the State on October 31.
High Court Bar Association vice president Bansidhar Satpathy had also quit the post following Bar association’s decision.
The lawyers are on an indefinite strike following the alleged assault on a colleague by police personnel on August 28. They have been demanding arrest of the police personnel involved in the assault.
