Bhubaneswar: Protesting Centre’s faulty policies that led to stiff rise of petrol and diesel price, the BJD today launched a state-wide three-day demonstration to make people aware about price hike.
The members of the regional party staged dharna in front of Raj Bhavan here today. BJD MPs, MLAs, Ministers and hundreds of party workers joined the rally and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The dharna started at 9.30 am and continued till 11.30 am. The party leaders submitted a memorandum to Governor addressed to the President of India.
The BJD members also stage similar protests at all blocks and RDC offices. The ruling party in State alleged that tax on petrol and diesel has been increased nine times since 2014. It demanded urgent steps to decrease the oil price.
