Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will kick start the ‘Mahanadi Surakhya Abhiyan’, a mega awareness rally, from May 16, the party informed at a press meet.
Senior BJD leader Prasanna Acharya said chief minister and party president Naveen Patnaik will launch the rally in Bargarh and Jharsuguda district on May 16 at 10 am. The rally will be taken out in both the side of the river.
Public rallies, street plays and other cultural events will be organized during the exercise to sensitise people about the monopolistic nature of Centre and Chhattisgarh government. People from different walks of life including students, farmers, fishermen and youth mass will take part in the event.
The rally which will cover around 1585 km will culminate at Paradip, Acharya informed reporters in presence of party vice-president Debi Mishra and general secretary Sanjay Dasburma and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.
