BJP Janjati Morcha national convention begins in Puri, Amit Shah to address meet tomorrow

Puri: The two-day national Janajati Morcha convention of the BJP began at Puri on Saturday. Morcha national president Ramvichar Netam inaugurated the Maha Adhivesan in the presence of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, State BJP president Basant Panda, and senior party functionaries.

Around 5000 delegates coming from different States apart from several Union and State Ministers, and senior party leaders have attended the meet.

BJP national president Amit Shah will attend the event and address a rally on “Tribal Rights” on Sunday.

Notably, Puri has become the focus for both the opposition BJP and ruling BJD ahead of the crucial simultaneous elections scheduled in May.

Recently, BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended two mega conventions of women and farmers in Puri in a bid to attract them towards Biju Janata Dal ahead of the elections.

Meanwhile, Shah had already addressed a public meeting at Kulia in Salipur in Cuttack district on January 29. Earlier, Shah’s Cuttack visit scheduled on January 18 was cancelled after he suffered from swine flu and admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed three public meeting at Khurda on December 24, at Baripada January 5 and Bolangir on January 15.
