CBI raid at petrol pump of Tito’s wife

Kendrapara: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the filling station owned by Benazir Bibi, wife of gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito in Kendrapara.

Acting on a warrant issued by the CBI court in Bhubaneswar, the probe agency searched the filling station and seized some documents. Officials of the Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch also co-operated with the raiding officials.

Earlier in July 2018, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry had sought a report from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) asking the latter to seek CBI’s intervention to investigate how the relatives of Tito managed to get the licences of a retail outlet in the name of Ms Sayed Brothers Filling Station at Badahat of Kendrapara Town and an ad-hoc dealership of COCO (Company Owned Company Retail Outlet) at Paradip Port Trust in Jagatsinghpur.

During the investigation, it was revealed that rules were flouted in allotment of petrol pump outlets to Tito’s relatives.

It may be noted that the CBI had been conducting searches at various places after the arrest of Tito to unearth his crime syndicate.
