Bhubaneswar: In a major respite for the urban slum dwellers, chief minister Naveen Patnaik today initiated distribution of land patta to slum dwellers living in Bhubaneswar.
The land records were given to 10,000 poor residents of the city at a special event at Janata Maidan in the Capital city.
On the occasion, Chief Minister said 10,000 pattas were given away today. “I have kept my promise made earlier. I always work for the interest of workers. My prime duty is to work for the poor people”, he said while addressing a gathering.
Odisha Cabinet had earlier decided to provide land rights and property rights to slum dwellers in small towns and cities respectively.
While land rights will be given to the slum dwellers in Notified Area Council (NAC) and Municipalities areas.
