Bargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today demanded Rs 10,000 monetary assistance for the farmers under PM-Kisan scheme of Centre.
Addressing a farmers’ rally in Bargarh, Patnaik said Rs 6000 under the central scheme is not adequate for the farmers. “The PM-Kisan Yojana will not benefit the small, landless farmers and sharecroppers. Criticizing the Naba Nirman Krushak Sanghthan (NNKS)’ Odisha bandh, Naveen said that some people are observing bandh today in the State which will not be fruitful. They can’t block the movement of KALIA yojana, he added. KALIA scheme is showing the path of development in the country.
Patnaik today disbursed the monetary assistance to farmers in the second phase. Over 14 lakh nominal and small farmers will get the assistance today in the second phase and the money will be directly transferred to the bank account.
