Bhubaneswar: The Eastern Regional Co-ordination meeting of DGPs on crime and law and order started at the Police Bhawan here Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Senior Security Advisor in Union Ministry of Home Affairs K Vijay Kumar and DGPs of four States- West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar and many senior officials have participated in the meeting.
The meeting will focus on chalking out strategies, joint operations, coordination among security forces, sharing of intelligence inputs and adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to deal with the Maoist activities.
Meanwhile, Odisha police intensified its anti-Maoist operations. At least seven hardcore Maoists, including two women cadres, were gunned down in separate encounters in Kandhamal and Bolangir districts in 48 hours last month.
