Cyclone in Andaman sea; 7 Odisha districts put on alert

Bhubaneswar: The special relief Commissioner today put seven coastal districts on alert due to a tropical cyclone titled ‘Pabuk’ which currently 1500 km away from Andaman. It will most likely to cross Andaman sea by January 5.

Even though its impact on Odisha is not clear, the SRC asked the Collector of Ganjam, Khurdha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts to remain alert. The fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea as the sea condition will remain rough due to the phenomenon.

The cyclone will move towards Myanmar in north-west direction and will weaken subsequently by January 8.
