Bhubaneswar: Calling chief minister Naveen Patnaik as a thief, veteran leader and former minister Damodar Rout today came down on him for failing to deliver speech in Odia even after 19-years of rule.
“His mind has turned Tamil. He just reads out whatever Pandian writes. He is yet to learn Odia even after ruling 19 years. The Chief Minister has dismissed several leaders from his by branding them as ‘thieves’ but I was ousted from the party after I called him ‘thief’. I will continue to speak against him,” Rout who is Paradip MLA said.
Speaking about his future in politics, Rout said that he will continue to remain in politics. “I am now 77. I have been doing politics for last 44 years. I am speaking about my experience in public whatever I have observed in my long political career”, he added.
Terming the government led by Naveen Patnaik is corrupt, Rout said that the people have now set mind for a change. “They are coming in large numbers to listen to me. But, I don’t know what would they do during election,” the former minister maintained.
Countering him BJD’s Ashok Panda said Rout’s comment doesn’t bear any value for BJD. “He speaks many things at many times. People are behind chief minister Naveen Patnaik. His prediction would yield no fruits,” Panda said.
