Bhubaneswar: In a sarcastic remark against CM’s private secretary VK Pandiyan, BJD’s senior leader and former minister Damodar Rout termed him as a clerk in the State Secretariat.
On being asked whether Pandian is playing the role of a shadow chief minister, Rout said “Who is he? I don’t know him. I was a minister. I don’t have any work with such a clerk”.
He further said “around 50 officers are working in Chief Minister’s officer. Why are you giving so much importance to him? He is just one among them”.
As many as 4,000 officials are working in Odisha Secretariat, he said. “Neither have I known him nor I have seen him nor I have met him once,” Dama maintained.
The former vice president of the BJD further criticised MP Baijayant Panda who had yesterday said during an interview on a national TV channel that CM is functioned by a coterie. Rout said “Baijayant might be a member of that coterie and he is now worried lot after his membership was scrapped. I don’t believe that CM is functioned by a coterie. Biju Janata Dal is a regional party and Naveen Patnaik is its head,”
