Bhubaneswar: Expressing concern over the delay in approval of the projects of big central PSUs including NTPC, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today urged Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik seeking his personal intervention for speedy approval of these projects.
In a letter to the CM, Pradhan stated “I request you for your personal intervention for speedy approval of the project by the High Level Committee which will send the right signals about ease of doing business in the State.”
Pradhan specially concerned about the project of NTPC which has proposed to set up an additional state-of-the-art 1320 MW power station at its existing plant in Talcher.
Though the NTPC has received all required clearance, it only requires State’s government’s nod, Pradhan stated, informing that NTPC had applied online on 19, April last year for single window clearance.
The proposed project would make energy available to people at a cheaper rate, he maintained.
Lack of clearance would ‘dampen the investment climate in Odisha and send a wrong signal to the investors’ community’.
