Bhubaneswar: The poor people especially the patients and their attendants coming from rural pockets to hospital in urban areas can avail Rs 5 meal at night in Aahar centres at government hospitals from today.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched inclusion of dinner in Aahar centre at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar through video conference. The service will be available at the Aahar centres in 56 hospitals in various municipal areas across the State. The dinner will be available from 7pm to 9pm.
The scheme will cater to 15,000 people across the state. The funds for the scheme will come from the Chief Minister’s Relief fund.
Launched in April 2015, the noon meal system-rice and dalma-are being served at Rs 5 at places of public congregations in urban areas. As many as 76 centres are serving the cooked food across the State.
