Dr SC Jamir leaves Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Former Governor of Odisha Dr SC Jamir left the State along with his wife Alemla Jamir and other family members for Nagaland on Saturday. Jamir was given the guard of honour at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in the city on the same day.

He was accorded guard of honour by two platoons of police force of the commissionerate police in the presence of Commissioner of Police YB Khurania.

State Finance Minister Sashi Bhushan Behera and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh and Mayor Ananta Jena bade farewell to the outgoing farewell.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also paid a courtesy visit to Jamir at Raj Bhawan on Friday.

Jamir was sworn-in as the Governor of Odisha on March 20, 2013. Earlier, he was the Governor of Maharashtra and Goa. He was also the Chief Minister of Nagaland for the five times.

Notably, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik took oath as acting Governor of Odisha on March 21.
