Bhubaneswar: Former Sundergarh MLA Jogesh Singh today joined Biju Janta Dal (BJD) at party headquarters here in presence of BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
Singh was accompanied by his hundreds of followers during the Mishran Parva. CM Naveen Patnaik said his joining will strengthen the BJD in Sundergarh district. “I welcome him”, Patnaik said.
Singh said that he will as a disciplined member of BJD for the development of Sundergarh. “I want development of Sundergarh district. So, we will work together in this regard”, Singh said while talking to media.
He recently resigned from Congress after being suspended from the party over alleged anti-party activities. He also resigned from the Odisha Assembly.
Singh had praised CM Naveen Patnaik in several occasions. Moreover, he also openly declared to skip Rahul Gandhi’s event in Bhubaneswar, which the party termed anti-party activity.
The disciplinary committee of the State Congress had suspended him.
He had served Congress for more than 17 years.
