Ex-MLA Jogesh Singh, three others hurt in road mishap

Sambalpur: AT least four persons, including former Sundergarh MLA and BJD leader Jogesh Singh were injured in a road accident near Khandanali in Angul district the wee hours of Saturday.

The mishap took place when the Singh, who recently joined BJD along with three others were travelling from Sundergarh to Bhubaneswar when the driver lost control over it and drove it to a roadside tree. The vehicle soon caught fire and was burnt.

Following the accident the car caught fire.

Some locals present at the spot detected smoke immediately rescued Singh and others.

Initially, the injured persons were rushed to Angul District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Singh along with his associates were coming in a car from Sundargarh to Bhubaneswar

While Singh received minor injuries, the other three were injured grievously in the mishap.

Locals rescued them and rushed them to hospital with help of an ambulance, said reports.
