Ex-MLA Nabin Nanda to move court against police action in Kolkata

Bhubaneswar: The arrest of former Dhenkanal MLA Nabin Nanda took a new turn after he rubbished the allegations of his connections with sex workers in Kolkata.

Nanda said that he had not gone to the Spa with any particular intention, but he had entered the SPA centre while chasing a pickpocket who had looted his belongings including mobile phone and wallet.

“I have no connection with the activities of the Spa centre. But, I was caught by police in the spa during a raid while I was chasing a pickpocket who entered the spa centre after snatching my mobile phone, wallet and other belongings,” Nanda said.

“It is a conspiracy against me. The allegations against me are baseless and false. I am consulting with the legal experts. I will soon move court for justice,” he added.

On the other hand, Kolkata-based web Magazine reported that Nabin Nanda was granted bail after being arrested along with 18 others including six sex workers from a spa centre at Park Street area in Kolkata.

Nanda’s son Sandip yesterday lodged a missing complaint with police in Kolkata after none of his family member was able to establish any contact with him since Saturday.

Later, he was arrested from a spa along with 18 others including some sex workers.
