Farmer commits suicide over crop loss in Jharsuguda

 

Jharsuguda: A farmer allegedly committed suicide due to crop loss at Samasingha village under Kolabira block in Jharsuguda district today.

The deceased was identified as Yudhistir Malick (48). He took the extreme step after he was unable to repay the loan which he had borrowed from bank for cultivation, said his wife.

According to reports, Malick had taken loans for farming and his daughter’s marriage. He was under severe mental agony.  Frustrated over crop loss, he committed suicide by hanging himself in his house.

On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation.
