New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress is most likely to announce its first phase list of candidates for Lok Sabha Assembly polls by March or 18.
It was informed by PCC working Committee president Chiranjib Biswal who along with other senior leaders like Niranjan Patnaik, Narasingh Mishra and Pradeep Majhi have camped in Delhi.
Some rounds of discussion with senior leaders and chief of Central Election Committee (CEC) members are over. Discussion has been held on some aspirants. One more round of discussion will be held before finalization, he added.
The first phase list of candidates will be released on March 17 or 18, Biswal added.
The party will give priorities to youths, women and leaders having winning prospects during finalization of tickets. However, party would not go for 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha or Assembly election unlike BJD, sources said.
PCC president Niranjan Patnaik said that the high command is the top authority to finalize candidates. The PCC only suggests the names of aspirants to the central election committee (CEC).
