Former MP Kharabela Swain attacked again, this time in Rayagada

Rayagada: Almost a month after he was attacked in Aul in Kendrapara district allegedly by ruling BJD supporters, former Lok Sabha member  from Balasore and Utkal Bharat president Kharabela Swain was attacked again on Saturday by a youth during a public meeting at Kashipur in Rayagada district.

He was attacked while addressing a meeting as part of his Odisha Bhagya Paribartan Yatra. Swain has shared a video of the incident on his Facebook page. The video has gone viral in social media.

In the video, it can be seen a group of youths came near the meeting venue which was being held under sky on the roadside in Kashipur within a few minutes Swain started addressing the gathering.

One of the youths started hurling slangs at the organisers and Swain also forcing the latter to stop the speech midway. However, the youth did not relent. He kept arguing and throwing slangs and attacked Swain.

Earlier on October 24, Swain was attacked allegedly by BJD supporters at Aul in Kendrapara. He was addressing a meeting at Aul when the incident took place.

He had filed a police complaint at the Kendrapara police station alleging that 30 BJD supporters abused and manhandled him and six of his supporters when he spoke against BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the meeting. They had also damaged his vehicle.
