Bhubanneswar: Amid reports of irregularities in Harischandra Yojana, the government has decided to distribute the amount through on-line credit system.
A portal for this service was dedicated to public by chief minister Naveen Patnaik at State secretariat yesterday.
At a review meeting, CM Naveen Patnaik has advised the officials to ensure the financial assistance for the beneficiaries without any hassle.
Around 80,000 people were benefited from Harischandra Yojana for which the government has spent Rs 15 crore last year while in 2017-18, Rs 17 crore have been spent for the benefits of 88,000 people.
It was known from the review that 39 corpse vehicles have been provided to 29 districts and six vehicles to three medicals under Mahaprayana yojana.
