Bhubaneswar: The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) has requested the Odisha Government to set up Odisha Tourism Development Authority to boost the tourism sector in the State.
HRAO Director JK Mohanty has written a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seeking his intervention in ensuring setting up of an Odisha Tourism Development Authority to attract more tourists to Odisha.
Mohanty said that the CM has made Odisha as a preferable State for industries and MSME sectors.
“The tourism sector needs urgent Government attention. As Secretary and Directors of this department are being transferred in regular intervals the progress in this sector is not so exemplary. There is a huge potentiality in tourism sector in Odisha. Hence, we demand for a Odisha Tourism Development Authority to boost the tourism sector,” Mohanty said in the letter.
He further demanded that a senior bureaucrat should head the authority at least for five years.
