Chennai: Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan Wednesday called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and sought his ‘advice’ on politics though he is a novice in politics.
The meeting between the founder-president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and Odisha CM minister was held on the sidelines of ‘Make In Odisha’ road show organized by Odisha government to attract investors in Chennai.
The MNM top brass told media that he appreciated Naveen Patnaik as his fan and sough his advice.
“He (Patnaik) has been delivering good new schemes for people, some of which are pioneering ones at the all-India level. his disaster management has been very good. Since there is a lot to learn from him, I met him and lauded him as a fan and got some advice,” he said.
Lauding Patnaik for delivering good governance, Haasan said the Odisha Chief Minister initially faced ‘criticism’ for being a ‘newcomer’ in politics but later “achieved more than those” who were aware of politics.
Earlier in the day, Patnaik held a road show to attract investors ahead of the ‘Make In Odisha’ conclave-2018 scheduled for November.
Patnaik also inaugurated Odisha Bhawan, the official guest house of Odisha Government in Chennai yesterday.
