New Delhi: Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, DGP RP Sharma and Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra on Tuesday appeared before National Commission for Scheduled Castes in New Delhi Kunduli gang rape and suicide case.
The Commission has asked the top officials of State to complete the investigation at the earliest and provide justice to the vicitm’s family. Besides, the Commission also directed to provide the vicitm’s family with financial assistance from Chief Minister’s relief fund and Ambedkar fund and submit a final report in this regard.
Koraput MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria, who is the petitioner in the case, has alleged that state government is not investigating the case in proper manner.
The Commission had earlier issued letters to the Collector and the SP to appear it and produce required documents for hearing of the case.
The minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men in uniform on October 10, 2017. Later, the girl committed suicide by hanging herself on January 22, 2018 in absence of her family members.
On February 12, National Commission for Scheduled Castes member Yogendra Paswan had visited girl’s village and met her family members as part of its ongoing investigation into the case.
The incident had triggered state wide outrage with opposition parties holding government responsible for such case.
