Maoist posters found in Kalyansighpur

Rayagada: Several Maoist posters surfaced in Kalyasinghpur of Rayagada district on Wednesday. Through the posters which were put on a Shiva temple in Kalyansinghpur, the rebels apparently threatened some middlemen who are trying to foil the Niyamgiri movement of the tribal.

The posters were reportedly released in the name of Basadhara-Ghumusar-Nagavali divisional committee of the CPI (Maoist) organisation.

They mentioned five names including Jitu Jakasika who is identified himself as a dongria kondh. Others are Lingaraj, Upendra, Haribandhu and Ganesh. The naxals alleged that they are trying to destroy the Niyamgiri hills for the sake of company

Through the hand written posters, the rebels also urged the people to join the Niyamgiri movement to protect the hills from the hands of industries.

Police seized the posters and are trying to verify the authenticity of the posters. Police said Maoists are apparently trying to make their presence felt in Rayagada and Kalahandi district, especially in Niyamgiri area.
