Maoists kill ‘police informer’, torch vehicles on Malkangiri-Chhattisgarh border

Malkangiri: The red rebels killed a person, who was travelling by a bus, suspecting him to be a police informer and also torched two Government buses of Telangana and four private vehicles at Dornapal in Chhattisgarh bordering Malkangiri late on Monday night.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

According to reports, the outlawed outfit members intercepted two Telangana State buses going towards Hyderabad from Jagdalpur and Bailadilla in Chhattisgarh, respectively and killed a youth, who is believed to be one of the passengers inside a bus.

Later, they set the bus on fire after directing the occupants to alight the vehicle.

They Maoists also torched four other vehicles present at the spot, reports added.

Meanwhile, police have beefed up security in the area and also intensified vehicle-checking operations along the inter-State border.
