Maoists trigger landmine in Koraput; no casualty

Jeypore: The Maoists continue to claim their presence in tribal dominated areas of Malkangiri, Koraput and other districts in Odisha. The rebels today exploded a landmine at Kaliajhola forest in Koraput district.

Though the extremists planted the explosive targeting the BSF jawans, no one from the security forces was injured in the blast.

On the other hand, tribal people put posters against Maoists. The anti-rebel posters appealed to the Maoists organisation not to spread reign of terror and maintain peace in the area.

In a separate incident, Maoists put posters on trees in Malkangiri and threatened the kendu leaf traders to leave the district. The rebels alleged large scale irregularities in kendu leaf trade.
