Bhubaneswar: The weather department today predicted the Bay of Bengal being rough near shore and also the low lying areas and some areas may experience surges intermittently from the morning of April 21 to the night of April 22 due to the effect of high period (18-22 seconds) swell waves, having 2.5-3 metre height.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Sea along & off Odisha and other States/Union Territories coasts like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal.
Low lying coasts of Kerala and West Bengal will remain mostly vulnerable, Met sources said.
On April 21, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is very likely to occure at isolated places over Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura,south Chhattisgarh and Kerala, a Met bulletin said.
Strong winds speed occasionally reaching 4050 kmph with moderate to rough sea conditions are very likely along and off West BengalOdisha coasts, it added.
