Naveen launches ‘My heart beats for hockey’ at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Men’s Hockey World Cup, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched promotional campaign for the national game named ‘My heart beats for hockey’ campaign on the occasion of National Sports Day at Kalinga stadium, venue of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup.

“The countdown for the mega event of Men’s Hockey World Cup begins today. I appeal to the people across the country to join the campaign and spread the passion and love for hockey,” the Chief Minister said.

“I am glad to be here today to join the campaign “My Heart Beats for Hockey” as well as unveil the countdown clock. The countdown clock is here to showcase 90 days to go for the Hockey World Cup-2018. It will rhyme with the heart of India and the rhythm of Odisha in the run up to the mega sports event,” Patnaik said.

During the 90-day campaign, people will be urged to support hockey ahead of the mega sporting event to be held from November 28 to December 16.

‘Heartbeat Centres’ will be set up in selected cities across the country including Jalandhar, Lucknow, Ranchi, New Delhi, Chennai and others to promote the world cup.
