Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in State Assembly Narasingha Mishra has joined a crucial election-related meeting of the All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday.
The crucial meeting being chaired by AICC president Rahul Gandhi, is likely to focus on strategies for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls in some States and also on ticket distribution to candidates.
Gandhi is meeting with AICC general secretaries, PCC presidents, LoPs and Chief Minister of Congress-ruled States today.
Both the top State leaders are understood to have taken a list of candidates for Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies in the State and will hold discussion in that regard.
The Congress, which is out of power in Odisha since three two decades, has now turned its focus to Odisha as Rahul himself visited the State in a span of 15 days and addressed three public rallies where he launched a frontal attacks on both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections due in May.
