No alliance, BJD to fight poll alone, says Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Setting aside media speculation that BJD might forge alliance with other party in Odisha, party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik today clarified that his party will go alone in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, beginning April 11.

“We will fight on our own. We will have no alliance with any other party” he said while responding to media.

Asked about the mode of selection of the party candidates for the ensuing elections, the Chief Minister said that winnability will be the only yardstick for the selection of the candidates.

Earlier, Naveen had informed that first phase list of candidates for Lok Sabha and Assembly poll will be released very soon. Work on selection of candidates is going on, he added.

Process for selection of candidates will be finalised very soon, he added.

Asked about the BJD’s poll preparations, the Chief Minister said his party is fully prepared for the election. The BJD will do well in the poll,” he had said.

He had also said to manage the selection of tickets as several bureaucrats and leaders of other party had joined BJD.
