Odisha Assembly adjourned till 11.30 am over disruption in Shree Mandir services

Bhubaneswar: For the second consecutive day, the Odisha Assembly was on Wednesday adjourned till 11.30 am as Opposition Congress members protested against the disruptions in conduct of rituals and services in the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri.

As the House met for the day to transact the business at 10.30 am, Opposition members trouped into the Well of the House alleging that the State Government was apathetic to the issue and kept demanding early solution to the impasse at the Jagannath Temple for which the sibling deities have not been offered Mahaprasad for the last two days.

As they didn’t relent from sloganeering despite Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat’s requests, the latter adjourned the House at 10.30 am till 11.30 am.

On Tuesday the House too witnessed impasse over the irregularities in the conduct of the services and rituals.
