Odisha Finance minister blames Centre’s faulty policies for diesel price hike; Dharmendra reacts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera today held faulty policies of Centre for rise of price of diesel, which has surpassed the petrol price for the first time in the country.

He said “It seems oil companies are either not under the control of NDA government or there is an illegal nexus between central government and oil companies.”

Behera further said that the steep rise in the prices of diesel will add to further price rise of essential commodities which will directly affect the lives of consumers.

Reacting to Behera, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called him a mentally bankrupt. “Sashi Bhushan is a mentally bankrupt person. He doesn’t say anything on his own, but on the direction of 3rd floor.  The fuel price is reducing for last three days. Public has to bear the brunt due to non-reduction of VAT by State government,” Pradhan said.

The cost of diesel today stands at Rs 80.69 per litre against the price of Rs 80.57 for one litre of petrol in Bhubaneswar. This first time price of diesel surpassed the petrol prices.
