Puri: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today lashed out at the Odisha government for allegedly forcing students to cross river dangerously to attend examination in absence of a bridge.
During his visit to Puri district, Pradhan said the State government utterly failed to construct a bridge in the native of Dharmapada of Konark in 19 years of rule. The students have no alternative rather to cross the river dangerously to reach their school, he rued.
“A government which could not construct a bridge for communication and failed to clean the beach, obstructed the Rs 10,000 crore central assistance for coastal highway”, Pradhan added.
During the time of Nabakalebar ritual of Lord Jagannath, Narendra Modi had sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the development of Puri. Modi government has always been prioritizing construction pucca houses, toilets, LPG connection, rail and road communication. But the State government is creating hurdles in every project and is not cooperating with the Centre in any manner, Pradhan alleged.
“To my utter surprise, CM Naveen Patnaik tweets everyday for the soldiers of our country while his party MLA had shoved the relative of Martyr Manoj Behera, which was widely telecast in various media. The scene hurt the feelings of 4 crore Odia, but Naveen Babu didn’t apologize on the unfortunate matter”, he rued.
