Odisha govt hikes festival advance to Rs 20,000

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to appease the government employees ahead of dussehra festival, the State government has enhanced the amount admissible for festival advance, which can be recovered through monthly installment from salary.

The Finance department has issued a notification in this regard. The notification stated “taking into account the factor of price rise and consequential cost of living , government after careful consideration have been pleased to revise the amount admissible for festival advance enhancing the same from existing Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.”

This advance shall be recovered in maximum of 10 monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each from the salary. The employees have to pay the installment from the succeeding month.

The employees who are in the pay level of 9 and below in the State pay matrix are eligible to get the festival advance.

The employee who would fail to recover the amount shall not be entitled to get the same in next festival.
