Odisha govt seeks user’s certificate of Governor’s air travel

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today sought the user’s certificate with regard to hire charges of aircraft and helicopter used by Governor Ganeshi Lal on June 10 and 13.

In a letter to special secretary to the Governor, General Administration and Public Grievance Department stated that Rs 41,18,000 have been spent for Governor’s travel on June 10 and 13 on twin engine Jet Aircraft Legacy 650 from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi and New Delhi to Bhubaneswar respectively.

Similarly, the use of chopper by the Governor for journey to Sirsa, his home town in Gujarat, from New Delhi on June 10 amounts to Rs 5 lakh.

The department also asked to intimate the reason and circumstances for hiring helicopter for Governor’s journey and deviation in approved schedule of the aircraft. The government sought to know whether approval of the concerned authority was taken for all these purposes.
