Bhubaneswar: With an aim to provide better treatment to cancer-stricken patients at subsidized rate, the Odisha Government today inked an MoU with Tata Trusts establishing a state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Bhubaneswar and upgrading Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) in Cuttack to a comprehensive cancer care hospital.
The agreement will also facilitate diagnostics & chemotherapy at all district headquarters hospitals. Some selected district hospitals will also offer Radiotherapy services.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Chairman of Tata Trusts Ratan N. Tata.
As part of the MoU, the Tata Trusts will set up and manage Cancer Treatment & Research Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The State government will provide free land for establishement of the hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The comprehensive care programme, as per the MoU, will be set up through a three-tier network of facilities with the Tata Trusts’s proposed Centre at Bhubaneswar and AHRCC in as apex centres.
