Odisha police wins ‘Community policing’ award in FICCI Smart Policing Awards 2018

New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar:   The Odisha police has won ‘Community Policing’ award at FICCI Smart Policing Award 2018 in New Delhi today.

On behalf of Odisha Police, IPS officer Sarah Sharma received the award from the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics and Programme Implementation Vijay Goel today.

The special jury award was given to Odisha Police for its remarkable work towards education, self help training and empowerment programmes.

The State Police has been working for the financial empowerment of the victims   various crimes since five years.  The youths of Maoist affected areas are being provided loans at four percent interest rate under Skill Development Programmes through Rural Self Employee Center in Deogarh.

Besides, 77 children were sent to KISS for their education by the Odisha Police.

All the working cops of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF) and Police of all the states across the country were selected under various categories in FICCI Smart Policing Award.
